SUNSHINE COAST UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
The Sunshine Coast University Hospital is the latest high profile hospital project to feature the Jacques IP Communications System. We have worked closely with Schneider Electric, the system integrator and installer that are handling the project. Working with Schneider we have supplied an intercom system that ensures reliable and secure communications for patients, staff and visitors.
The Security Management system of the hospital is controlled by Inner Range’s Infiniti System. The Infiniti System interfaces with the Jacques system to provide full functional capabilities to the security operators onsite so effective communication is seamless. The hospital boasts 2 virtual servers that feature High Availability that means if for any reason one server should go down the other will power up and take over, so the system always stays online.
Jacques audio intercoms are mounted in Security Information Bollards located in and around the external areas of the site and within the car park so assistance is available at the push of a button. Inside the hospital you’ll find Jacques Video Monitor Stations which communicate to Jacques Video Entrance Stations, granting people access to different areas of the hospital. The site features 360 Jacques intercoms in total. The feedback from the users has been glowing, the staff at the hospital have found the Jacques intercom system to be highly reliable and robust.
Numerous hospitals and health clinics across Australia and around the world boast the Jacques IP system. Providing reliable communication solutions to health facilities is something Jacques is very committed to.

SOUTHERN CROSS UNIVERSITY
Southern Cross University has campuses in Coffs Harbour, Lismore and the Gold Coast. Ben Graydon is the Campus Services Supervisor and is very pleased with the Jacques Emergency Help Point System the university has installed.
The model of intercom used on the campus is the VSL-351QS+ which features a self-testing button. This means that the intercom’s call button can be tested remotely without the need for a technician to physically interact with the intercom.
They’ve found the Jacques system to be highly reliable, flexible and simple to use. The university boasts 30 emergency audio intercoms across 3 buildings, with 9 in Lismore and 21 in the new campus at the Gold Coast.
The new Gold Coast campus building is pictured here and was designed by GHDWoodhead. All of the Jacques intercoms are configured to contact the security gatehouse which is operated by security staff 24/7.
The Jacques IP Communications System keeps university students, staff and visitors safe by providing a simple and effective emergency call point system.

CSIRO RESEARCH VESSEL INVESTIGATOR
Jacques have partnered with Australia’s national science agency, the CSIRO, to provide an intercom solution to the Research Vessel Investigator which is due to set sail for scientific expeditions to Antarctica.
The new $120 million vessel was designed, built and commissioned by the CSIRO through the Future Research Vessel Project, an initiative of the Australian Government.
In terms of the communication solution for the ship Jacques VSL intercom terminals and PA speakers have been installed throughout the ship and we have customised the Jacques Speaker Microphone Interface Consoles so that those on the ship can hold down one button to speak to all stations on the vessel or a separate button to speak to just those on the ship’s deck.
We’re proud to be providing a communication solution for such an exciting project, helping some of our nation’s top scientists as they research one of the most critical areas on our planet.

The Singapore National Heart Centre is one of many sites in the South East Asian region where the Jacques IP Communication System can be found. The Jacques Singaporean distributor Ascendo handled this project and from these photos you can see how the Jacques devices have been set up.
The Video Monitor Station with handset is installed at the main reception desk and one of the Jacques Video Entrance Stations has been mounted at the entry to one of the wards. The health sector is a market Jacques are committed to helping with the Jacques IP Communication System and Clean Room Intercom.

AMBROSE TREACY COLLEGE
The systems suits all the needs of school administrators, allowing them to easily split the junior school, middle school and senior school into zones. They have all of their bell times set in advance and throughout the day they can easily make live PA announcements across the campus. The staff at the school have found the JAS (Jacques Announcement Scheduler) system to be far superior to their previously installed analogue system as everything is managed from a single interface.
The JAS software allows multiple users to be logged in at once and unlike their old system does not require a painstaking server login process each time a change needs to be made. The school actually staged a practice lockdown drill earlier in the month and the entire process ran smoothly. For more information about the Jacques PA system please visit the PA page of the website.

CUTTERS LANDING APARTMENTS
Cutters Landing is one of many high-end residential developments to feature the Jacques Video Intercom System. The complex boasts 235 apartments spread out over several blocks. Each apartment is equipped with a Jacques Video Monitor Station. Calls are placed to the residents through 13 Video Entrance Stations that are installed at the entrance to each complex.
For individual residences Cutters have installed the Jacques VES-741, a one button video intercom that calls directly through to the resident’s VMS. The apartment buildings feature VES-75Ks, so visitors can enter the individual unit number they need to call, or residents can enter a PIN to grant themselves entry. The VMSs can also store missed calls whereby the VES takes a snapshot of the caller and sends it to the resident. If the residents wish to not be disturbed they can set their VMS to private so it will not play a ringtone or activate the screen when a call comes through.
David Thomson oversees the Jacques system at Cutters Landing and is very pleased with the communication it facilitates between administrators, residents and visitors. The administrators of Cutters can send text messages directly from the PC Master in the Building Manager’s office to the VMSs in the apartments. This provides a simple and non-intrusive method for the body corporate to stay in touch with residents.
