Learn how to build your system with these steps

Start with an IP network

Begin any Jacques IP communications system with an Ethernet network configured for Quality of Service. All Jacques intercom & public address endppoints connect via CAT 5 or CAT 6 to a PoE switch. Simply plug & play.

1. Add controllers & software

Add a system controller & software suitable to the intended size of the system and the functionality required. Controllers are available in hardware or virtual options. Controller redundancy can be achieved to ensure ultimate up-time of the system for critical communication.

2. Add master stations

Add master stations. Master stations make and receive intercom calls as well as make public address announcements. They also monitor the system health. There are a variety of options, including a PC Master Station with customisable graphical user interface software.

3. Add audio intercom stations

Add audio intercom stations. They call pre-defined master stations and can initiate relays within the system. Audio intercom stations come in many sizes, finishes and button configurations. Prison intercom terminals are vandal resistant and include anti-ligature speaker pattern designs.

4. Add help point units

Add help point units. Help point units (HPU) are highly visable, vandal resistant intercom call points for public safety. One or two button configurations are available. Audio & with camera options exist too.  They call pre-defined master stations and can initiate relays within the system.

5. Add video intercom endpoints

Add video intercom endpoints. They provide video calling from door stations to monitor stations. They provide additional features such as missed caller image snapshot, text message, relay modules and user friendly graphical user interface. Use a mix of audio & video products to suit your needs.

6. Add public address functionality

Add public address functionality to create a flexible and zoned system. IP PA system offers unmatched scalability and configuration options. With dynamic grouping of PA zones and unlimited groups and zones within a group, you can tailor your site-specific PA system to ensure complete audio coverage across all buildings, areas, and precincts. Take control with the digital signal processor, allowing you to effortlessly broadcast background music to selected PA zones while simultaneously making PA announcement calls to other individual or chosen zones. Discover a new level of versatility and efficiency with Jacques IP PA system. Additionally, any intercom endpoint can be addresses individually or as part of a PA zone/group.

7. Finish with accessories & mounting

Choose accessories and mounting options to suit the environment. Accessories are available to provide additional functionality to the system such as push button emergency button panels. Mounting options exist for surface or flush mount, pole or bollard and can include rainhoods for outdoor installations.

Stage, live-site upgrades

It isn’t always feasible to upgrade intercom and public address hardware and software at once. We deliver phased upgrades while sites remain operational, with mixed‑mode operation so legacy and GEN4 devices run side‑by‑side. With a reputation in secure facilities, we provide the controls and support needed for high‑security, communication‑critical environments.

How it works

We assit you to audit your current system, plan a zone‑by‑zone/area-by-area upgrade pathway, and plan cutovers to avoid downtime. Existing Ethernet/cabling is reused wherever possible. Configuration and testing are performed via a web interface—no additional hardware or on‑site technician required. Upgrades are software-driven from the system controller down to the device firmware.
